A.J. can’t keep up with Beckett, Yanks lose 7-0

- Maybe A.J. Burnett should have served his suspension after all.

The Yankees would have been better off with virtually anyone else on the mound Tuesday night, as Burnett was torched for five runs in 2-2/3 innings en route to a 7-0 Red Sox victory.

Unlike Burnett, Josh Beckett lived up to the hype in the anticipated duel, dominating the Yankees with six innings of shutout ball, allowing just one hit while striking out eight. The Yankees totaled two hits.

"It's all about the tone you set," Burnett said. "You saw what their starter did and you saw what I did. That's how the game went."

The Red Sox have now won all six meetings between the two teams, pulling into a first-place tie in the American League East. Continue
